Account Executive

The Position:

As an Account Executive with Network Instruments, you will be responsible for securing maximum sales volume for company products from customers within the territory to which assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Protect existing business and add new business by calling on current and prospective customers.
  • Maintain contacts with customers in relation to their requirements; make company services available to customers.
  • Perform missionary work on new products and new accounts, including assistance in writing customer specifications, influencing the placing of orders through proper channels.
  • Keep informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Develop strategy and proposals; secure and renew orders; inform customers of supply and price trends; assist in inventory control; arrange delivery dates and other details of the sale.
  • Provide information as required on all aspects of customer satisfaction - product and service conformance to schedule, commercial and technical requirements.
  • Maintain product sales program within the territory and in support of market segment programs.
  • Keep current on competitive activity.
  • Keep records and make reports on all phases of activities: sales forecasting, sales plans, sales calls, and expense accounts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of progressive outside sales experience or equivalent training/experience.
  • Has demonstrated skills developing long-term customer partnerships up to and including the C-level (customer acquisition, development, and retention).
  • Has strong planning, organizational, and territory management skills.
  • Has demonstrated skills in teamwork effectiveness across all functional areas.
  • Is a creative, motivated individual with assertive consultative selling, conceptual selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Is PC proficient in a Windows environment with the MS Office Suite.
  • Has excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Is able to travel 25-50% of the time, percentage of travel and frequency of overnight travel dependent upon geographic territory.
  • Holds a valid Driver's License.

Electrical Engineer

The Position:

Network Instruments LLC is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of implementing high speed FPGA design using VHDL and designing high-speed electronic circuits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bring cutting edge high-speed FPGA designs from specification to final production
  • Define and research components for use in design
  • Schematic entry and management using Orcad
  • Work with PCB layout designers for layout and checking the board files for correctness
  • Bring final design through regulatory testing

The individual must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of VHDL design and verification
  • High speed digital and analog circuit design and troubleshooting

Inside Sales Manager

The Position:

Incumbent in this role will learn the company technology, product portfolio, internal systems, sales methodology and specific JDSU Market segments/customer types. Following the training period, typically will have a quota and responsibilities as part of the Manager of the Inside Sales Organization. Responsibilities will include but not limited to growing our Tier 4 Service Provider and Enterprise business by selling high volume, lower cost/complex products through our distribution channels.

The primary responsibility of this role will be managing internal sales staff to meet sales objectives. Responsible for attaining sales objectives of a geography or set of accounts. May carry an individual quota as well as a roll-up quota for the group managed. The Manager will also develop the necessary training, mentoring and development plans for the overall team.

Success Indicators:

  • Strong Manager with a proven, sustained track record as an individual contributor in meeting sales goals
  • Ability to learn company technology and product portfolio quickly.
  • Ability to develop strategies for inside sales organization

Technical Support

The Position:

Network Instruments is currently seeking candidates with excellent verbal, written, and computer skills to join our Technical Support team. Our technical support department focuses on providing high quality support to our customer base via telephone, email and our user forums. We provide network analysis tools, both hardware and software, to network professionals for baselining and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver service and support to end-users by interacting with customers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services.
  • Gather customer information and determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms.
  • Use effective research techniques to find solutions via internal and external resources.
  • Document findings and relevant case data in support information systems.
  • Offer alternative solutions, where appropriate, with the objective of solving the customer's issue.
  • Organize ideas and communicate effectively with customers, technically skilled network engineers and engineering colleagues.
  • Effectively manage the customer support experience.  Manage case load, priorities, time commitments and service level agreements (SLA).
  • Complete QA test cases; manage workload and priorities to achieve SLA goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to manage and resolve complex customer issues.
  • 2 years of customer support and troubleshooting, or equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the OSI Model with emphasis on layers 4-7

Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Position:

Assists in the development of and performs test cases to verify functionality, data integrity, security, and overall usability of software.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates, maintains, and executes test plans and test cases against our hardware and software platforms, including the environments and technologies used to perform the testing.
  • Estimates test efforts.

Software Quality Senior Engineer

The Position:

Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overall quality assurance for software services and products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the daily activities of the quality assurance staff.
  • Identifies and manages implementation of test plans and cases based on leading edge techniques and statistical evaluation.
  • Develops, reviews, and publishes standards, policies and procedures for all functions involved with or related to the quality and testing of Software Products.
  • Establishes roles, reporting relationships, and responsibilities within the Quality Assurance Group. Also provides and maintains a workable test and defect tracking environment with the applicable tools.
  • Communicates major status of projects, test personnel, customer concerns, etc. to the Department Manager.

  • Charged with implementing new test technologies, reports Industry and Technical Trends to both Peers and Senior Management.
  • Shares responsibility for internal and external customer software distribution and control of internally developed applications or Software Product Releases.
  • Periodically inspects completed quality control checklists, forms and other documents for conformance to prescribed standards.
  • Reviews and resolves software quality control problems/concerns with customers, test personnel or other personnel related to production of Software Services or Products. 

Qualifications:

  • Six+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Experience testing web-based client-server systems, web services and desktop-based systems in Microsoft Windows environments.
