Using Novell’s LAN Workplace with NIPrint
Unfortunately, NIPrint will not work with Novell's LAN Workplace.

The problem is with LAN Workplace. While Novell *claims* Winsock compatibility, LAN Workplace is missing one very important Winsock feature - the ability to send a NUL from Winsock.  Sending a NUL is an absolute requirement for LPR, and thus you see that NIPrint can receive print jobs (acting as LPD), but can not send jobs.

Until Novell corrects this problem with their Winsock no LPD will work with it.
