The HP 4/4M driver is a "2-way" driver.  That is to say that it will only function with a printer connected directly to the LPT port on the PC, and will not work with any networked printer software.

Our suggestion is to use the LaserJet III driver - it has been our experience that the functionality of the two drivers with respect to the output, is identical.
