Title: Remote Queue checking is not working with my print server
Remote Queue checking is not working with my print server
First off, if you are trying to check a queue on a remote Unix or other large host (i.e. NOT a LPD based print server), then this is an indication that the queue is not set up correctly on the remote host.
If you are checking a queue on a LPD based print device (JetDirect, Emulex, network printer, etc.) the checking of remote queues is not a very good test of printer functionality. Most LPD based devices do not have a complete implementation of LPD, and typically the queue checking if the first thing that gets left off. So, the fact that it does or does not answer the queue check attempt does not have much bearing on whether the print server is set up correctly. Queue checking may or may not work with your device - please contact your LPD based device vendor for support of queue checking. |
