Updating to the latest (and last) Observer 3.7 (3.7c)
On May 15th, 1997 Observer 3.x was discontinued as a product from Network Instruments. Observer 3.x was replaced by Observer 4. For information about updating to Observer 4.0 please see the Observer 4.0 New Features Page.

You can still update to the last version of Observer 3.x (3.7c), by downloading the file:
ftp://ftp1.networkinstruments.com/pub/disks/obs37/obs37c.zip

We suggest that you follow these instructions for updating to the latest 3.7.

Remove your current version of Observer 3.x by:
   1) Remove the Observer protocol driver from Network setup in Control Panel (It is called “VPACKD, Network Instrument Protocol Driver”),
        and then reboot your PC
   2) Once you have rebooted your PC, delete the file “VPACKD.VXD” from your Windows/System directory.
   3) Delete your Observer directory

Once you have removed the previous copy of Observer, you can now unzip and install version 3.7, and use your previous 3.x activation and identification numbers to “turn on” version 3.7.

Please note that Observer 3.7c will not be changed, patched or enhanced in any way. This is the last version of Observer 3.
