RoHS Statement:
In response to the legislated environmental directives being instituted throughout the world, Network Instruments has established a comprehensive program that is intended to promote product compliance with the new laws. At this time, the key environmental directives are from the European Community, with many countries/states either following these directives explicitly or instituting their own variations. The most notable directive is the RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances). The RoHS legislation restricts the use of certain hazardous substances to levels of less than 100-1000 ppm used in electronic products. The RoHS and equivalent directives prohibit use of the following substances in products placed into the market effective July 1, 2006:
· Lead |
· Cadmium |
· Hexavalent Chromium |
· Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) |
· Mercury |
· Polybrominated Diphenylethers (PBDE) |
Network Instruments has received requirements from many customers to provide products conforming to these environmental regulations. In order to serve our customers, we are in the process of ensuring that 100% of our products are compliant with the RoHS directive, where appropriate. Currently all non-exempt Network Instruments internally manufactured products are or will be RoHS compliant now with any remaining scheduled to become compliant by July 1, 2006. All Network Instruments internally manufactured products will labeled accordingly on or by July 1, 2006.
Certain Network Instruments products, due to their implementation are exempt from RoHS (as defined in DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 January 2003 and amended by Commission Decision 2005/747/EC of 21 October 2005, ANEX, Page 5, Section 7). These products will not be labeled RoHS compliant. These products may be RoHS compliant in the future as RoHS complaint processes are verified to insure reliability. At that time they will be labeled RoHS compliant.
Additionally, we are collecting compliance statements from all of our component and material suppliers so that to the best of our knowledge, all Network Instruments products will be 100% compliant by July 1, 2006.
Network Instruments committed to full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations under this directive and will meet the July 2006 deadline. Most products will be available by or before this deadline, but some items require long lead times due to the availability of RoHS compliant components. The part numbers will not change, but there will be a marking on the product label indicating RoHS compliance.
